In the late 1990's the Owners of Bailey's began to identify customer needs in the dry freight trucking industry. Specifically, in the lift gate segment. To help service these needs Legacy was formed in 2002. Specializing in the lift gate segment the company quickly grew its fleet to 50 trucks. Since then Legacy has carefully expanded to other segments while continuing to maintain a focus on liftgate freight.In Legacy's early years the needs consistently outpaced their capacity. To alleviate the issue Legacy ventured into brokering truckload freight in 2011. After hiring an expert and creating a unique brokering and customer service model the brokerage expanded well beyond servicing Legacy's current customers.

Over time Legacy was approached by several customers requesting assistance with their less than truckload (LTL) needs. To assist Legacy began brokering LTL freight in late 2017. Following truckloads successful pattern, a seasoned expert was hired and an effective model for brokering and providing customer service was created. And like truckload the LTL division is beginning to expand beyond Legacy's current customer base.
